| Street Lights | At Xmas I was on the island and came back to the island on a late ferry about 11 pm and was concerned about the lack of street lighting along from the jetty to Tagaruba street. along the foreshore there -
A young girl who worked on the mainland and regularly comes back to the island at that time of night walked with my friend and I and commented that she was often afraid walking alone along that stretch late at night cause when the moon is small it is quite pitch black and a bit scarey and I agreed. |

| Cars Speeding | Part of the appeal of the island that drew all the local "city folk" in the first place was the "slow" way of life - yet now they zoom around in their cars and whilst on the Island at Christmas sitting on our verandah soaking up the lovely ambience!! - I was concerned to see the number of young children cycling with parents (and getting ahead of their parents - turning down near the barge ramp to head up towards the jetty on their bikes to be "confronted" by a speeding motor vehicle that was really travelling (possibly legally) but certainly faster than really required considering the pleasure people get from cycling and walking around the island. A decrease in traffic speed around the island would not have any significant effect as it only takes two minutes from one side to the other at any given time anyway!!!... | Julie Cook (nee Bradby) | ||
| I think it would be impossible to police any type of speed limit - but what we could do is have some speed bumps. | Paul Slater | |||
